charlotte restaurant week: aria

after the capital grille experience, next up was aria. you already know the drill of charlotte restaurant week so i'll spare you the details. here's a {mostly} picture post of our first time at this lovely place uptown.

behind the bar sat this lovely case that held endless bottles of wine.

a view of the 1st level of the restaurant

lights from the 2nd level.

pre dinner cocktail - moscow mule.

our bottle of wine we split.

caramelized potato gnocchi.

wild mushroom pizza appetizer.

we both ordered the chicken scallopini on a bed of spinach orzo.

freakin' nutella bread pudding.

cheesecake.

aria featured their entire menu for the 3 for $30 deal, which is something not a lot of places do. i was really impressed with our service and food. it was a lovely dinner date and a place i would go again non-restaurant week as it's not outrageously priced.

y'all. it was a ton of food. i was munching on the bread and halfway through my gnocchi (which was literally heaven in my mouth), i was almost full. but i saved half of the appetizer and half of the entree and ate it for lunch the next day. the orzo was amazing. and don't even get me started on that nutella dessert. i mean really, you could put nutella on fruit loops and it would probably still be good.

maybe not.

but you know what i'm saying. go try this place.

xo,
