charlotte restaurant week at capital grille.

how much are you loving charlotte restaurant week? if you haven’t heard of it, you’re clearly missing out. it’s going on right now so head over to their website, select a place and make your reservation!

tons of restaurants over all different parts of charlotte participate in some variation of an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $30 per person.  some lovely places {ahem, 300 east & 131 main} offer a complimentary glass of red or white wine.

personally, i think that’s genius because that would make one order another glass.

anyway, we decided to dine at two places we’ve never been to this week.

last night, we went to the capital grille.

it’s located at the corner of 5th street & tryon in uptown charlotte and honestly, i don’t know if i would dine here if it weren’t for deal because $$$$$$$. but it is hands down, totally worth it twice a year for this kind of scrumdidillyuptious-ness.

we started by having a drink at the bar before dinner as our reservations were 5:30 and we arrived before allyson & chris. but they soon joined us shortly after.

{his & hers.}

we were seated promptly at 5:30pm and i can’t even begin to describe how amazing the food was. see below for menu for queen’s feast.

first course: choose one - field greens, caesar salad, clam chowder
second course: choose one - 8oz filet, breast of chicken, 14oz sirloin, seared salmon, and something else i have no flippin idea what it is.
third course: choose one - flourless chocolate espresso cake, cheesecake with berries, or creme brulee.

i ordered the clam chowder, 8oz filet mignon which included mashed potatoes & green beans for the table, and (not listed) the crème brulee. that dessert was an add on after then had created the menu – which pretty much made allyson’s night alone. lee ordered the same, but got the cheesecake with berries instead.

{chowder}

{creme brûlée}

{cheesecake}

honestly, y’all i was so excited when they set the filet in front of my face that i devoured it and completely forgot to snap a picture. so that is an extreme fail on my part. but if you will, just imagine steak perfection with some sort of herb for decoration in your mind and you have my meal.

i highly recommend dining here for queen’s feast because the deal is unbeatable.

thursday’s dinner is at aria! more to come.

xo,
